McNelly, A.J. “Jake” “Little Mack”, age 87 of Maryville, passed away Friday, July 7, 2006, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Embassy Christian Center until his health failed. He served with the U. S. Army during World War II, having been stationed in Germany. After his return from the War, he worked for ALCOA Aluminum Company, retiring after 44 years of service, he was also a member of the 25 Year Service Club. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy L. McNelly; sisters, Geneva Pridemore and Ruth Elliott; brothers, Arthur “Buck” McNelly and Elmer Townsend. Survivors include: daughter, Debbie McNelly; care giver and special friend, Ethel George; brother, Robert Townsend of Columbia, TN; sister, Dorothy Waters of Knoxville; nieces, Doris Elliott, Glenda Faye Atchley, and Peggy Thomas; other nieces and nephews; special friends, Wayne and Jane McClanahan, Jim and Diane Hafner, Malchus and Madge Cooper, David and Debbie Payne. Special thanks to: Dr. Chris Shamblin, Morningview TCC, Blount Memorial Hospital Nurses for all the special care, and Rev. Jerry Scott. Funeral services will be 7:30 pm Monday, July 10, 2006, in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. Tod Zieger officiating. Family and friends will meet 9:00 a.m. Tuesday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens for the interment. The family will receive friends 6:00-7:30 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home, Maryville.
