Arthur Jefferson Smith

Arthur Jefferson Smith, age 95, of Maryville passed away February 1, 2022, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a lifelong member of First Baptist Church Maryville. He attended Maryville High School, graduated from Castle Heights Military Academy in 1945 and University of Tennessee in 1951. He was an avid fisherman, hiker and loved traveling. He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Lorene B. Smith; son, Dr. Kent J. Smith; parents, Arthur Bowman Smith, and Norma Singleton Smith; sisters, Frances Whitehead, and Marjorie Rawlins.

He is survived by his son, David Smith; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Smith; granddaughter, Hannah Cagle; 1 niece and 3 nephews.

The family will receive friends from 12:30-2:00 PM, Saturday, February 4, 2023, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the funeral to follow at 2:00 PM with Rev. Gary Stinnett and Dr. Bill Booth officiating. The interment will immediately follow at Grandview Cemetery.
