April Lynn Browning Butler, 62, of Maryville, TN after a short battle with cancer went home to be with Jesus, surrounded by her husband and daughter on the evening of January 13, 2023. April was born on December 29, 1960, in Tampa, FL to Don and Alberta Browning. April was primarily raised by her grandmother Maxine “Granny” Browning, in Lexington, KY until she was 14 and moved back to Tampa. April eventually went to college and became a radiation therapist. In 1982, she met the love of her life and husband of 37 years, David. They got married in 1986, and in 1991 moved to Tennessee and had a daughter, Eden. April became a stay at home mother to raise Eden. April dedicated her life to helping children and was a part of various groups online to advocate and stop child abuse. April was also a Court Appointed Special Advocate for the 9th Judicial District in Tennessee, and in Florida for a brief while. Overall, April was a CASA for 10 years and won over 10 awards for her leadership, dedication, willingness, and kind heart. April was known to all for her fiery red hair that was just as fiery as her passion for helping kids. April loved the simple things in life like God, a nice dinner, bird watching, classic rock music, animals, and her family. April is preceded in death by her mother, Alberta, and her grandmother, Maxine Browning.
April is survived by her husband, David; her daughter, Eden; her father, Don Browning; and many cousins, nephews, and nieces.
A memorial service will be held at McCammon-Ammons-Click in Maryville Saturday January 28,2023, at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to CASA of the Tennessee Valley.
