Annie Hitson-age 102 of Maryville, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015, at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was born and raised in Monroe County and moved to Blount County in the late 1950's. She was the oldest member of Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church. She was also an avid wood carver and whittler. Preceded in death by her father, Charlie Hitson; mother, Alice Strickland Hicks and step-father, Grover Hicks; 3 brothers and 4 sisters. Survivors include her nieces and nephews, Clifford Tilson and wife Charlotte, Paul Tilson and wife Mary, Margie Arnold, Mary Ann Summey, Dennis Hitson, Ella Smithey, Betty Samples, and Ruth Campbell; several great nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with Rev. Raymond Burnett officiating. The family will receive friends 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Family and friends will meet 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 17, 2015, at Big Creek Cemetery, Monroe County, for a graveside service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
