Annabelle J. Libby

LIBBY, Annabelle J., age 72 of Maryville, passed away on Sunday, May 5, 2002 at her home. She was a member of New Providence Presbyterian Church where she served as an Elder. A 1952 graduate of Maryville College, she held a master’s degree from Kent State University in Library Science; she worked as an educator in Lorain, OH, as a children’s librarian in Shaker Heights, OH and then as Director of Transfer Admissions at Maryville College. She sang in the Sweet Adelines of Cleveland, OH and more recently with Smoky Mountain Harmony, as well as in her church choir. Annabelle was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence D. and Maude Evelyn Darkis Libby. She is survived by: brother and sister-in-law, Earl and Lesley Shattuck Libby of Louisville, OH; niece, Betsy Libby of Uniontown, OH; nephew and wife, Dan and Danita Wolf Libby of Logan, OH and their children, Jacob, Bradley and Lynndsay. She also leaves behind close and loving friends, Martha Hess of Knoxville, Carmen Walker and Lynae Wyngate of Alcoa and Jean Sylak of Shaker Heights, OH. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Thursday, May 9, 2002, at New Providence Presbyterian Church with Rev. Emily J. Anderson officiating.
