MAPLES, Anna Pearl (Shirley), age 91, a native of Board Valley and resident of Blount County. Tennessee, passed from this life on Wednesday, January 26, 2005, at 3:50 p.m. She retired from Delco Products, Division of General Motors, Dayton, Ohio, was a member of the Dayton Baptist Temple, Dayton, Ohio, for many years, and was an active member of Dotson Memorial Baptist Church, Maryville, Tennessee since the early 1980's. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Arnold Maples; parents, Noah Andrew and Mary Jane (Osborn) Shirley of Monterey, TN; twin sisters, Annabelle and Minnibelle Shirley of Board Valley, TN, sisters and brothers, Nettie Brown of Harriman, TN, Roland Shirley of St. Paul, MN, Jewel Estelle Whitaker of Maryville, TN, Mattie Lee Coppock of Cyprus, CA, Curtis Shirley of Marion, IL, George Franklin Shirley of Jacksonville, FL, Laura Cora Clark of Salamanda, NY. Survivors include: children, Mary Gladys Maples of Maryville, TN, George Andrew and Vida (Tindell) Maples of Friendsville, TN and Charles Franklin and Carolyn (Waitzman) Maples of Springboro, OH; grandchildren, Melissa Pearl Williams and Meredith Frances Armstrong of New York, David Arnold Maples of Friendsville, TN, James Raymond and Teresa Maples of New Paris, OH, Nicholas Charles and Robin Maples of Lexington, KY; great grandchildren, Jessica Marie Hapner, Whitney Nichole Armstrong and Justin Alan Armstrong all of New York, Dustin Andrew Maples and Danielle Suzanne Maples of Friendsville, TN, Ryan Wade and Tanner Michael Maples of New Paris, OH and Noah James Maples of Lexington, KY; sister, Nellie Dimple Williams of Beaver Creek, OH; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law including, Andrew Neal Maples of SC, and Audrey Muriel Maples of Maryville, TN; many nephews and nieces; great nephews and great nieces; great great nephews and great great nieces. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Dotson Memorial Baptist Church, Maryville, with Pastor John Coates officiating. The interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Church.
