Andrew Knox

KNOX, Andrew, age 82 of Alcoa, passed away Monday, April 25, 2005, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church of Alcoa and served 49 years as Deacon and Church treasurer for several years. Andy retired from ALCOA after 39 years. He was Mayor, Vice Mayor and city Councilman for the city of Alcoa over a span of 22 years. He served his country during World War II with the Eighth Air Force in England. Survivors include his wife, Helen Campbell Knox; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Steve Whitehead of Clarksville; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Nancy Knox of Maryville; grandchildren, Melissa Cole, Tony Knox, Samantha Christian, Pam and Steve Whitehead, Jr., and Cristy and Andy Whitehead; great grandchildren, Ryan Whitehead, Drew Whitehead, Alex Whitehead, Jamie Whitehead and Jai Lynne Whitehead. Funeral services will be held at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Danny Davis officiating. A military graveside service, with the East Tennessee Veteran Honor Guard officiating, will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at Sherwood Memorial Gardens.
