Alice Sharp Pearce passed away January 5, 2019, at home surrounded by her family. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Alices strong spirit made an impression on all of those who knew her. Alice grew up in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School in 1945. She attended the University of Tennessee, graduating in 1949 with a B.S. in Home Economics. After graduating, she worked as a home economist in the Home Service Department at the Knoxville Utilities Board. In 1955, Alice married Alfred Thomas Pearce, Jr. and moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee. Alice and Tom were long-time faithful members of First Christian Church in Chattanooga where she served as president of the Christian Womens Fellowship and was a deacon in the church. She was also an active member of the Chattanooga Womens Club, the Chattanooga Area Home Economics Association, and Rowewood Community Club. Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Thomas Pearce, Jr., and her father and mother, Wyly Gibson Sharp and Jessie Alice Williams Sharp. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marian and Glenn White and daughter, Nancy Browning all of Maryville; son, Wayne Pearce of Seymour; grandsons, Richard (Stephanie) White, Robert (Stephanie) Browning; granddaughters, Lauren (Nathaniel) Wilson and Leslie Browning; great-grandsons, Peyton and Sawyer Browning; and great-granddaughter, Adrienne White. The family would liketo thank all of the home health caregivers from Extended Family Services who showed kindness, love and support to Alice, especially BJ Bansen and Dianne Craig. The family will receive friends from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Monday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. Family and friends will meet at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for a graveside funeral and interment service with Rev. Catherine Nance officiating. Donations can be made to First United Methodist Church, Maryville Memorial Fund or Good Neighbors of Maryville.
