Alice Patricia Brinkley

Mrs. Alice Patricia Brinkley, who was a member of Old Piney Grove Baptist Church for most of her life, was born July 19, 1925 and died on March 28, 2018. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, sons, James Larry and Jerry, and daughter Jama; her mother and father, Lizzie and Fred Hall as well as all her brothers (Hugh, Hubert, Frank, Clay, Virgil, Johnnie, Elijah, and sisters (Myrtle, Ines and Dea). She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Judy Laxton (Larry) and 5 grandchildren, Natasha, Kris (Melody), Tessa, Maeghan (Chad) and Keylan (Ashley), 2 great grand children, Connor and Chipper, along with 5 other special greats Kaitlyn, Keira, Priscilla, Dustin and Dalton. She was blessed to have many nieces and nephews. She also leaves quite a few special friends/relatives, to name a few-Meryl, Sandy, Pat and Rosemary. To some, she was known as Allie, and to others she was known as Pat. She lived most of her adult life in West Virginia but relocated to Tennessee, her roots, upon her husbands retirement. In later years, she lived in Mobile, Alabama with her daughter and family. Two days before her death, she was stringing green beans and was directing the cooking processshe always said a pinch of salt and a lid made every thing taste better and she was known for being an awesome cook. It has been said that the impact of ones life can be determined by how they lived during the dash 19252018 (the time between the years). She loved the Lord and her family and was a very strong person to the end. She made friends easily and had many in every place she lived. Even though we will miss her presence daily, as one granddaughter said, she put her walker down one last time and received her wings. The family will receive friends from 5-6:00 p.m. Monday, April 2, 2018, at Old Piney Grove Baptist Church with the funeral service to follow at 6:00 p.m. with Pastor Rex Everett officiating. The interment will follow at the Church cemetery.
