Alcie M. Winders

Alcie M. Winders, age 85 of Maryville, passed away Wednesday, December 21, 2011, at Colonial Hills Nursing Center. She was a long time, faithful member of Maryville First Baptist Church for over 60 years. She loved to work in the church nursery. She always joked that she changed the diapers of half the people in Blount County. She was an avid Maryville High School and Lady Vol Fan. Preceded in death by parents, John J. and Vera Collier; brothers, Michael A. Collier, Harold W. Collier. Survived by husband of 65 years, Joseph W. Winders, Sr.; daughter, Lynne M. Winders, Knoxville; special “adopted” daughter, Linda Klein, Knoxville; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet C. and Doyle M. Daugherty, Maryville, Toni and Terry L. Burns, Jasper; son and daughter-in-law, Joseph W., Jr. and Debby T. Winders, Maryville; grandsons, Logan E. Winders, Joseph Zane Winders, John L. Burns, James T. Burns. Special thanks to the staff on 2 East at Blount Memorial Hospital, Blount Memorial Hospice and Colonial Nursing Home Funeral services will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Charles Ballard officiating. Family and friends will meet at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Sherwood Mausoleum for the entombment service. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Maryville, 202 W.
