Alberta Bert Hammontree

Alberta “Bert” Hammontree - age 92 of Greenback went to be with the lord Saturday, December 20, 2003 at the home of her daughter and husband Sherry and Ted Porter. She was a lifetime member of Oakland United Methodist Church Trigonia. She was an avid flower gardener and a devoted grandmother. She was the oldest child of Bales and Allie Long. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Hammontree; son, Curtis Hammontree; 1 great-grandson; sisters, and 1 brother. Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Porter and husband, Ted, of Loudon; sister, Marie Long, of Greenback; daughter-in-law, Helen Hammontree, of Blount County; 4 grandchildren, Anne Melton and husband Jerry, Terry Hammontree and wife Kathleen, Remonia Sparks and husband Rick, and Sam Forkner III; 7 great-grandchildren, John, Jimmy and Brooke Melton, T.J. Hammontree, Cody Hammontree and wife Amanda, Clay and Katelyn Sparks; special friends, Frank Forkner, Cedrick and Edith Queener and Leah Marshall; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Oakland United Methodist Church Trigonia with Rev. Steven Yeaney officiating. The interment will follow in the Church Cemetery.
