Albert John Rieger

Albert John Rieger, born January 21, 1926, in Jersey City, New Jersey, passed from this world on December 29, 2017. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert J. Rieger Sr, and Mary Irwine Wilson Rieger. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara Eleanor Bickley Rieger of Maryville, TN. He retired from Alcoa after working as a metallurgical engineer for 40 years. He attended Maryville First United Methodist Church. He has 5 surviving children and their families. Daughter Ellen Rieger Green and husband Larry of Maryville, TN and their children Mary Elizabeth Pierce (Brian), Brian Scot Green, and Leslie Green Blick (Andy). Son Kenneth Alan Rieger and wife Rozanne of Union City TN, and their children Sara Rieger Hinton (Mason) and Jason Craig (Michelle). Son Douglas Frederick Rieger and wife Gail of Maryville, and their children Alexander Stuart Rieger (Rachel) and Katherine Anne Rieger. Son Robert Bruce Rieger and wife Karen of Farragut, TN and their children Daniel Justin Rieger, Jennifer Anne Rieger, and Mitchel Ray Rieger. Son William Albert Rieger and wife Lynn of Spring Hill, TN and their children Lauren Rieger Mott (Robert), Mary Lynn Rieger and William James Rieger. He is also survived by great grandchildren Andrew and Christopher Pierce, Bailey, Allison and Anna Blick, and Lainey and Madalyn Craig. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 3, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home with the funeral service to follow at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Catherine Nance officiating. The interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
