Adah Margaret Lamon Cooper of Maryville passed away on August 25, 2016 at Blount Memorial Hospital. Born on November 15, 1920, she was the only daughter of Howard F. and Nelle H. Lamon. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Willard Lee Cooper, in 1996, and her infant son, Willard Larry Cooper, in 1944, both for whom she was a tireless caregiver. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-Iaw, Richard H. and Janelle Cooper of Maryville, Henry (Hank) and Gayle Cooper of Beech Mountain, North Carolina, and step-grandchild Thomas Morris and wife Jennifer of Clinton. Adah was a retired, long time educator in the Blount County and Maryville City School systems. She was appointed Maryville system's first female principal at Sam Houston Elementary School in 1973 and retired from that position in 1986. She was a faithful, long time member of Broadway United Methodist Church. A memorial service will be 3:00pm Saturday, August 27, 2016, at Broadway United Methodist Church with Rev. Laura Rasor officiating. The family will receive friends 2:00-3:00pm Saturday at the church. Any memorial gifts should be made to Broadway United Methodist Church Special Music Fund or the Holston Methodist Home for Children, 404 Holston Drive, Greeneville, TN 37743.
