A. E. Gene Hamilton

A. E. “Gene” Hamilton - age 83 of Maryville passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2009 at University of Tennessee Medical Center. Gene was a member of Maryville First United Methodist Church, retired from the Maryville Daily Times in 1991 with 41 years of service. He was a 55 year member of the Maryville Rotary Club where he had 50 years perfect attendance, was active many years with the Boy Scouts, and served in the U.S. Navy Air Corps during WWII. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Floyd and Dessa Greenway Hamilton; brothers, Richard and Floyd Jr. Survivors include his wife, Martha Goddard Hamilton; sons, Tom of Maryville, Bobby of Thornville, OH, Steve and wife Kim of Astor, FL, Phil of Maryville; daughter, Marti of New Market, TN; 11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brenda Carroll and Rev. Larry Carroll officiating. The interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Maryville First United Methodist Church, Maryville Rotary Club, or Charity of your choice.
