Margaret Ann (Peggy) Patterson

August 19, 1933 — December 2, 2023

With great sadness, we announce the loss of our beloved mother, Margaret Ann (Peggy) Patterson at her home on December 2, 2023. Peggy was born to John Sr. and Margaret Young on August 19, 1933 in Friendsville, Tennessee.

She was a wonderful mother that loved her family and friends. She never met a stranger. She had a big bright personality. She lived an amazing life with our daddy (the love of her life), her kids, and her family.

Momma loved gardening. Our daddy dug more holes for trees and flowers than can be counted. They made every place they lived beautiful together. She was the most honest and courageous person that we know. She could do anything. She was a hairdresser. Our daddy never knew what color her hair would be from day to day but always thought she was beautiful. She worked at a seatbelt factory and lastly found her calling in security services. She began at Proffitt's, then Sears, Wynn's, and Walmart. She did this for over forty years. She was the toughest, petite, shoplifting catcher in Tennessee! She upheld integrity, honesty, and fairness.

Peggy is dearly loved by her loving husband of 63 years, Dale Patterson, as well as her children Debra Lee McCall (deceased), Robert Van Patterson (deceased), John Earl (Marchia) Patterson, Jenny Lee Ann (Jason) Patterson-Ridge; her grandchildren Adam Lee (Shelley) Patterson, Robert Benton Patterson, Dana Chantel Patterson, and Abe Owen. Ridge; her great grandchildren Clark Elizabeth Patterson, Henry Lee Patterson; her stepmother Virginia Young and her siblings John Young, Jr. (deceased), Betty Young, Linda Harris, Rachel Young, special brother-in-law Ike Patterson, J.M. Willis, and Van Patterson (deceased).

A special thanks to all of her Hardee’s buddies for their wonderful friendship over breakfast with our momma and daddy. She loved the biscuits and gravy, but mostly time spent with our daddy and friends.

Our mother will be forever loved and in our hearts. The family will be honoring her privately at their home.
