John Lee Wells

John Lee Wells, age 73, of Maryville, TN, passed away February 1, 2024, at his home. He lost his 20-year battle with Parkinson Disease. He was retired from Georgia Forestry Commission, retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the US Army, and was an Eagle Scout. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Doris and J. Lloyd Wells.

He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Lavone Shead Wells; stepdaughter, Rachel Lynn Holder; granddaughters, Angel Smith (fiancé, Michael Carter), Amber Smith; great-grandchildren, Hope Wilde, Nova Wilde, Willow Smith; future granddaughter, Paisley Lee Carter

The family will receive friends from 11:30-12:30 PM, Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home. A graveside service with military honors will follow at 1:00 PM at Grandview Cemetery, with Rev. Ken Abbott officiating.
