Emmitt L. Hunt, Jr.

Emmitt L. Hunt Jr., age 90, of Maryville passed away November 16, 2023, at Asbury Chestnut House. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church and a former member of East Athens Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, serving in the Korean War. He retired from UPS in Athens, TN. He lived in Athens, TN for 32 years and was very active with Habitat for Humanity.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Emmitt L. Hunt, Sr. and Grace Gertrude McDaniel Hunt; sisters and brothers-in-law, Gladys and Muncie Webb, Sue and Earl Ellis; brother and sister-in-law, Victor and Ina Hunt; brother-in-law, Roy Mason.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marion Deloris Miller Hunt; son, Terry L. Hunt (Norma); daughter, Karen B. Dabney (Johnny); son, Kenneth S. Hunt (Doris); multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Lodema Mason; multiple nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 9:30-11:00 AM, Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at McCammon-Ammons-Click Funeral Home in Maryville, TN, and the service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Greg Long, Rev. Tom Stanley, Rev. Mike Dannel officiating. Family and friends will meet at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, at McMinn Memory Gardens, Athens, TN for the interment.
