Dr. Paul Wilfried Hoffmann

Dr. Paul Wilfried Hoffmann, age 74 of Maryville, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011, at Blount Memorial Hospital. He was a Maryville Ear, Nose and Throat Doctor from 1972 until his retirement in 2010. He was former Chief of Staff at Blount Memorial Hospital and was a retired Flight Surgeon and Lt. Colonel from the TN Air National Guard. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Christa Hoffmann. Survivors include his wife, Mary Hoffmann; son, Paul Erich Hoffmann and wife Mitzi of Chattanooga; daughter, Susie Hoffmann and husband Albert Shih of Winston Salem, NC; stepchildren, Rachel Joseph of East Lansing, MI, Jennifer Lewandowski and husband Eric of Holt, MI; grandchildren, Christa and Sophie Shih, Zachary Hoffmann, Thomas and Kristen Lewandowski; mother-in-law, Martha Wissman; brothers, Ekkehard Hoffmann, Dieter Hoffmann both of Germany; sisters, Gerhild Huber of Germany and Sigrid Spry of El Cajon, CA. A memorial service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Sunday in McCammon-Ammons-Click Chapel with Rev. Ralph Kirkpatrick officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at the Funeral Home. At Dr. Hoffmann’s request, his body was donated to the U. T. Memphis School of Medicine.
